We believe that protecting the environment, both land and water, is essential, and for this reason Balboa Express Carwash is proudly powered by solar! Solar produces electricity from sunlight, reduces both air and water pollution as well as the need for finite resources, and is renewable.
Our water is also renewable. PurWater recovery system delivers a high quality wash through the PurWaterTM unique water recovery system. Patent pending succession technology produces 5 micron quality water and eliminates the need for disposable filters. A uniquely engineered ozone injection system reduces odors typically associated with water recovery.
And PurClean spot-free rinse systems removes all contaminants from the water supply that if otherwise left untreated would result in unsightly water spots. Pure mineral-free water delivered to your vehicle is a final rinse allows the entire vehicle to dry perfectly spot-free removed the need for labor intensive hand drying.

Each time you use Balboa Express Carwash’s state-of-the-art water treatment system, you save at least 50 gallons of water- that’s about 800 cups of water – compared to washing your car at home. The water filtration system at Balboa Express Carwash is a fairly sophisticated water reclamation system utilizes the process of reverse osmosis to eliminate the mineral content in the water and address water hardness. The PurClean systems effective use of pure mineral-free water delivered to the vehicle as a final rinse allows the entire vehicle to dry perfectly spot-free. Reverse osmosis and de-ionization can stretch the use of reclaimed water through many parts of the car wash process, especially the rinse cycle. Hard water causes spotting and reverse-osmosis is widely considered the most effective way to remove calcium and magnesium from municipal water.

Balboa Express Carwash installed solar power to harness the power of the sun’s energy and make cars clean, shiny and beautiful in San Diego.And we produce 67% of our electricity. The clean energy produced from solar in three months offsets as much CO2 as if Balboa Express Carwash had planted 165 trees.
In addition to installing solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, solar thermal panels were also installed. Solar thermal panels contain tubes that are connected to the water tank of the carwash. The thermal panels warm the water up and then send it to the tank. A carwash needs warm water because it is better for washing, so thermal panels reduce the electricity used, turning cold water into warm water.

Raising money for your organization can be a challenging endeavor and we have endeavored to simplify the process for schools. Here is the criteria:
